The youngest mother of identical quadruplets in Britain, a 22-year-old lady who was told by physicians that she would never become pregnant naturally, has expressed her happiness. When Charlene Medlicott gave birth to four girls, she defeated odds of 25 million to one. Without I.V.F. treatment, she had previously been forewarned that she would likely never have children.
Charlene Medlicott, 22, was informed by doctors that due to her polycystic ovaries, she would never be able to conceive naturally.
To know how much they fell out, it is enough to see the photos of her with her quadruplets! In fact, she is the youngest mother of identical quadruplets in Britain.
Charlene, according to the Daily Mail, denied the chances that she was only one in 25 million giving birth to her daughters two years ago.
After doctors ᴡᴀʀɴᴇᴅ her that she could only become a mother through I.V.F, Charlene was sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ to learn that she was pregnant naturally and then pregnant with four babies!
Her partner, Mark Connaughton, said, “It was a big sʜᴏᴄᴋ to the sʏsᴛᴇᴍ! To find out you’re having one is enough of a surprise, but four is very different.”
In December 2011, she gave birth to Gracie-Lou, Rosaline, Amalia-Rose, and Eveylynn.
The doctors initially said that the girls were identical in pairs, that is, two pairs of twins, but their father, Mark, was sᴛʀᴜɢɢʟɪɴɢ to separate them. Then the D.N.A test proved that the girls were identical all four of them.
When she found out about her pregnancy, her doctors told her to ᴛᴇʀᴍɪɴᴀᴛᴇ the two pregnancies because they were worried that all four ꜰᴇᴛᴜsᴇs would not be able to sᴜʀᴠɪᴠᴇ in the ᴡᴏᴍʙ.
However, she refused, and today she is holding her four daughters in her arms.
“I never expected to get pregnant by ᴀᴄᴄɪᴅᴇɴᴛ, so it was a big surprise when I found out about my pregnancy,” says the 22-year-old, who had to stay in the ᴄʟɪɴɪᴄ from the 24th week of pregnancy until she gave birth to her children in the 30th week.
Eight weeks later, they returned home happy. Luckily the girls have always been really good and have always had a good routine.
