Water b.r.o.k.e on the way to the hospital. The baby was born at 9:20 a.m., weighing 3.2 kg and measuring 49 cm.
Last Monday, December 20, a pregnant woman from Olmpia (SP) gave birth in a car in front of the hospital for children and mothers.
The couple went to Rio Preto, where the birth would take place. When they were passing through Bady Bassitt Avenue, the Water b.r.o.k.e, and the HCM team was ᴡᴀʀɴᴇᴅ. Baby Theo wanted to arrive in the world in a different way than the traditional one: he didn’t wait for his mother, Ana Carolina, to arrive in the ᴅᴇʟɪᴠᴇʀʏ ʀᴏᴏᴍ and was born in the car, in the hospital parking lot.
Father Roger Andre Souza Mazer said, “We have a history of ʜᴜᴍᴀɴɪᴢᴇᴅ childbirth, and this is our first daughter. So we were calm and sure that it could be born anywhere. Cᴏɴᴛʀᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴs began at 6 a.m., calm and spacious. My wife, Ana Carolina Carvalho, 27 years old and calm, who is an expert on the subject, stayed at home with my mother. I went to work, and I let her know that if the ᴄᴏɴᴛʀᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴs started, she would call me, and I would immediately go home to pick her up and come to the hospital”.
He also said that “around 8:20 am, I picked her up at home, and we headed towards São José do Rio Preto, with more ɪɴᴛᴇɴsᴇ ᴄᴏɴᴛʀᴀᴄᴛɪᴏɴs. About a kilometer from the hospital, my ᴡᴀᴛᴇʀ ʙʀᴏᴋᴇ, and I stopped the car to call the doctor, who immediately went down to the parking lot with the medical team. At the hospital gate, I stopped the car, and the doctor and his team arrived. With all the support and security, the boy was born.” The mother was accompanied by the team of the ᴏʙsᴛᴇᴛʀɪᴄɪᴀɴ, Fabrício de Freitas.
When asked if they felt ꜰᴇᴀʀ, Roger replies that “we feel gratitude. It is a remarkable story in our lives. And at all times we were safe, without any ꜰᴇᴀʀ”.
The father, who is passionate about cars, added that “the feeling of having a child born in a car is inexplicable. Very rewarding!”
Theo, the couple’s second child, was born at 49 centimeters and 3.2 kilos and is doing well.
