This mother’s jaw dropped in disbelief when she saw how big her child was—at almost 12 pounds, she was one of the largest newborns ever delivered in Brazil. When Gabrielly Trevisan was delivered, she smashed the hospital’s 27-year-old record by almost a full kilogram, tipping the scales at 12.61 pounds.
Gabrielly is nearly twice as heavy as the typical infant and measures an astounding 54 centimeters long. Maria, the mother, was informed that her baby would be larger than the normal bundle of joy even before she was born.
Maria uttered, “It was a bit of a shock and quite unpleasant the first day I held her in my arms; she was so huge. The doctor said that he had never performed an ultrasound on a child this size; they had even overestimated her weight. The infant Gabrielly is proving to be excellent. She has a fantastic personality and is calm.”
